When you select any object in Revit, it displays temporary dimensions to adjust the distance of the object from its surrounding elements. But by default, the temporary dimensions snap to the centers of the elements But we might need the temporary dimensions to snap to the external faces of the surrounding elements.
So to the change the default settings from centers of elements to face, Go to
Manage>Additional Setting> Temporary dimensions
